protect your vacation with a travel insurance plan

why get travel insurance?

With more booking choices, more available destinations, and
more people traveling than ever before, you want to make sure
you thought of everything before you travel. That’s where travel
insurance can help. Travel insurance can help provide coverage
for unexpected travel problems, from a cancelled flight, to a serious
illness, inclement weather, or even an act of terrorism.  Travel insurance will help you cover unexpected costs due to issues or reimbursement for covered cancellations.

Did you know?
One in six Americans say their travel plans
have been impacted by medical conditions, natural disasters
including severe weather, or mechanical or carrier-caused
problems, according to a recent survey by the U.S. Travel
Insurance Association.

What does the state department say?

The U.S. State Department recommends trip protection because health insurance policies (including Medicare) won't cover you aboard.
If you have a covered medical emergency outside of the United States, Allianz Travel Insurance can help you find a pre-screened hospital, pay for your treatment, and get you home safely.  It also comes with trip cancellation protection, emergency medical transportation benefits, lost or stolen luggage protection, 24-hour assistance and concierge services, and more.

Common questions about travel insurance

What does travel insurance cost?
Travel insurance plans are affordable and typically cost 4-8% of the overall trip cost.
do i have to purchase insurance right away?
It is best to purchase travel insurance right after you purchase your travel arrangements.  Most policies include coverage for pre-existing medical conditions of the covered person.  If you fail to purchase the insurance within 14 days of initial deposit, you will forfeit that coverage on the insurance.  Don't miss out on protecting your investment by delaying!
i ALREADY HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE, WON'T THAT COVER ME?
Not always. Check your current coverage carefully before you travel to see if you’ll be covered in the case of an emergency. Many
people choose travel insurance to avoid possible deductibles they may have to pay. Also, keep in mind that you may have “out-of network” medical expenses and that Medicare may not cover medical expenses incurred while abroad.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A TRAVEL INSURANCE POLICY?
• Trip Cancellation, Interruption or Delay Coverage
• Medical Expense and Evacuation Coverage
• Lost or Delayed Baggage Coverage
• 24-Hour Emergency Assistance and Concierge Service
